Andreas Buchwaldt is a Toronto-based artist, educator, and community organizer. His current practice uses digital media and sculptural installation to engage with Canadian labour history and imagine what the future of work might look like. His projects are often collaborative, developed with fellow artists, game designers, and theatre artists. Buchwaldt has exhibited his work in artist-run centres across Canada and has taught at several Canadian universities. He holds a PhD in Visual Culture from Western University, an MFA in Sculpture from York University, and a BFA in Sculpture from the University of Saskatchewan.

Alongside his art practice, Buchwaldt has been involved in labour and community organizing through S’ATTAQ, the Syndicat associatif des travailleur·euses autonomes du Québec, a freelance labour group based in Montreal. His work with the organization has included public outreach, workshops, workplace mapping, research, and direct-action campaigns.
